Description
Virtual and augmented reality have been growing in popularity over the past few decades, and thanks to new sensory engineering, users will soon be able to experience these immersive technologies with all five senses. Olfactory engineering, the science of recreating smells, is being used to create various scent-based devices, such as face masks, amulets, and booths, all designed to enhance the user’s XR experience. Companies such as OVR Technology, Vaqso, Feelreal, Aromajoin, and SENSIK are creating innovative devices to make this possible, and Radiant Vision Systems is creating a system that evaluates the visual performance qualities of XR displays. With these developments, the possibilities for XR experiences will soon be nearly endless.
