Light Sensing Wearable to help individuals with Lupus

Description

A new 3D-printed wearable device capable of sensing light has been developed by researchers at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. This device can help people with lupus and other light-sensitive diseases by giving real-time feedback so they can better manage flare-ups. It is a breakthrough in the medical industry, as it offers an unprecedented level of accessibility and comfort. Lupus flare ups due to light exposure happen in 40 to 70 percent of people with lupus including sunlight and artificial light.
