E-TRAN Eye Pointing

Description

E-TRAN is an eye-gaze communication technique for people who cannot talk or easily point. It was named after the most used letters of the alphabet which were in the primary positions on the original board. It was first invented by Jack Eichler and Huge C Neale in the 1970s.

The original has letters and number arranged in 8 locations around the clear plastic sheet with a hole in the middle. For the most used letters, you would look at a group and then back to the center. For other letters you would look to a group and then a corner and back to the center.

Since then different forms have appeared arranging the letters in different ways.
